How to Delete a Contact/Company from Your CRM?

You can delete a contact or a company from your CRM.

Before proceeding with the deletion of a record from the "CRM" Module, it is important to know that deletion is permanent; it will not be possible to recover the information afterwards.

Prerequisites

A CRM contact/company may contain several linked items (CRM Contacts, Orders, Quotations, Opportunities, Projects, Resources, Purchases). To avoid accidental data loss, we prevent the deletion of a record containing linked data, so it is necessary to follow a specific order to successfully delete a record.

To be able to delete, you must have the Delete right for the CRM module.

Administrator Interface > Managers/Roles tab > account/role record > Modules & Configuration Keys section > Check the checkbox at the intersection of the CRM Module row and the Delete column

Remove All Links

To delete a company or a CRM contact, it is necessary to break the links with the associated objects. This can be done by deleting these objects OR by reassigning them to other CRM contact/company records.

Remove the Link Between Your Projects and the Associated CRM Contact

  • If the project is an error, you can delete it, see How to delete a project / a delivery?

  • If the project is associated with another existing contact, you need to reassign it. You must have write permission for this. From the Project record, click Change below the Client field to choose the new contact. Save.

Remove the Link Between Your Opportunities and the Associated CRM Contact

  • If the opportunity is an error, you can delete it, see How to delete an opportunity / positioning?

  • If the opportunity is associated with another existing contact, you need to reassign it. You must have write permission for this. From the Opportunity record, click Change below the Client field to choose the new contact. Save.

You can now delete the contact.

Remove the Link Between Your CRM Contacts and the Associated CRM Company

  • If the contact is an error, you can delete it.

Company Record > Contacts tab > Select then bin

  • If the contact is associated with another existing company, you need to reassign it. You must have write permission for this. From the Contact record, click Change below the Company field to choose the new Company. Save.

You can now delete the company.
