To avoid accidental data loss, we prevent the deletion of a record containing linked data, so it is necessary to follow a precise order to successfully delete a record.
⠀
Make sure you have deletion rights
To be able to delete, you must have the Delete right for the Projects module:
Administrator Interface > Managers/Roles tab > account/role record > Modules & Configuration Keys section > check the checkbox at the intersection of the Projects Module row and the Delete column: See tutorial Create and configure a manager account
⠀
The deletion hierarchy
⠀
Delete invoices linked to the project
If you have created orders on this project, you must first delete any invoices attached to them.
To check if there are invoices issued from these orders, open each order record and then its Invoices tab. You can then proceed with deletion by following the order presented below:
Projects Module > project record > Billing tab > Order record > Invoices tab
⠀
Delete the order(s) from the project
Now that your invoices are deleted, you can now delete the orders associated with your project.
Projects Module > project record > Billing tab
⠀
Delete linked timesheets/expenses
If it is a duplicate project, timesheets/expenses should be linked to another delivery. Open the timesheet/expense report that points to this delivery and then change the lines pointing to it.
Resource record > Timesheets tab: unapprove the person’s timesheet to be able to edit it
Delete the times entered on the initial delivery
Select the new project
If the timesheet itself is an error, then it must be deleted:
Resource Module > Resource record > Timesheets tab > select the timesheet > click the bin icon
⠀
Delete associated purchases
If you have associated one or more purchases with your project, you need to delete them:
Projects Module > Project record > Purchases tab
⠀
Delete the delivery(ies) linked to the project
Now your project only has the deliveries you associated with it left to delete:
Projects Module > Deliveries tab
⠀
And finally the project!
Your project is now empty and you can delete it without difficulty by going to the Projects module:
WARNING
Before deleting a record from the "Projects" Module, it is important to know that deletion is permanent, it will not be possible to recover the information afterwards.
Tip
Are you sure you want to delete the project? When one of your projects ends, if you want to keep a trace, you can archive the project by changing its state in the Information tab of the project.
