A Little Context
Starting September 1, 2026, all French companies subject to VAT will be required to receive electronic invoices.
The issuance obligation will follow a progressive rollout schedule:
September 1, 2026: Large companies and Mid-caps
September 1, 2027: SMEs and Micro-businesses
This mandate applies to domestic B2B transactions between companies subject to VAT.
In France, electronic invoices route through a national framework based on:
Accredited Platforms (APs), registered with the DGFiP, which are the only entities authorized to transmit electronic invoices between senders and recipients;
A Central Directory managed by the Public Invoicing Portal (Portail Public de Facturation - PPF), which routes invoices between Accredited Platforms;
Standardized formats (Factur-X, UBL, CII).
The Accredited Platform guarantees compliant transmission, regulatory traceability, and lifecycle tracking of the invoices.
Boond partners with B2BRouter, an Accredited Platform registered with the DGFiP, to ensure the compliant sending and receiving of your invoices to the official network—without emails, without PDFs, directly system-to-system.
Configuring the "e-invoicing" Connection and Registering with the Accredited Platform
Check Your User Permissions
Before you can use the connector, you must first activate the "e-invoicing" module in your Boond environment.
Go to First Name > Administration > Managers / roles > Click on your role or the relevant role:
⚙️ If you do not have access to this section, please contact your internal administrator.
Once in your role settings, go to the "Administration" sub-tab and tick the "E-invoicing connection" option.
➡️ Don't see the connector?
Log out completely, then log back into Boond.
Once this step is done, you can configure the connector and register your company with the Accredited Platform.
Configure the Connector
Next, go to Administration > Advanced Settings section, where you can access the Electronic Invoicing module. From this module, you can add and configure a new connector:
Step 1: Select the relevant agencies sharing the same legal identifier (SIREN).
Step 2: Choose your Accredited Platform (AP).
The rest of the configuration relates to B2BRouter.
Want to know more about the Pennylane integration?
Step 3: Verify and enter your legal identification number (SIREN).
Not sure which identifier type to use?
0002 : SIREN
💡 For all flow types (sending & receiving, or sending only)
0009 : SIRET
💡 Use this if you want a second electronic invoicing address and your SIREN is already used for sending and receiving on another accredited platform
0225 : FRCTC Electronic Address
❌ Do not use!
Step 4: Select your exchange mode ("Send invoices only" or "Send and receive invoices")
When registering your company in the PPF Central Directory, the identifier used in France must follow the 0225: format (the Peppol scheme dedicated to the French Directory), which comes in three possible forms:
0225:SIREN (the most common, identifies the legal entity) - the only available choice at the moment
0225:SIREN_SIRET (identifies a specific establishment)
0225:SIREN_SUFFIX (a custom internal identifier, useful for multi-PA setups)
💡 How to choose between sending only or sending and receiving?
👉 I want to issue and receive my invoices via Boond (recommended option to manage everything in one place):
Select "Send and receive invoices". Boond + B2BRouter will handle the entire workflow within the DGFiP framework.
👉 I only want to issue my invoices from Boond (for example, because your accountant or another tool handles reception):
Select "Send invoices only". You will still be able to receive status updates from your client (submitted, received, rejected, collected) via the regulatory lifecycle.
💡 My NAF code is rejected during registration?
Your NAF code must consist only of its first two digits. For example: if your NAF code is 71.12B, the expected value is 71.
Congratulations, you have activated your connector and your company is registered in the PPF Central Directory!
Your company should appear in the Directory within 24 hours.
💡 Share your identifier with your suppliers!
You can send a bulk email to all your suppliers to provide them with your routing identifier, which looks like 0225:YourSIREN (e.g., 0225:123456789).
If needed, they can also find your identifier via their own Accredited Platform, which automatically queries the PPF Central Directory.
Sending Your Invoices via Boond
Recipient Configuration
You must now configure your client's billing information and add their Peppol identifier. Your client should provide this to you, but you can also look it up in the directory.
💡 First Step:
If you haven't already, add "Peppol" as a delivery method (the exchange mode used by PAs to ensure interoperability) for sending invoices!
To do this, go to Administration > Global Settings > Billing > Sending Modes and add a line by selecting "Peppol".
In France, this identifier follows this format:
0225:Client's SIREN (e.g., 0225:123456789).
Depending on the case, it may also take one of these forms:
0225:SIREN_SIRET(specific establishment, e.g., 0225:123456789_12345678900012)0225:SIREN_SUFFIX(internal suffix defined by the client, e.g., 0225:123456789_PURCHASING)
Go to your client's Company Card > Billing Tab > Instructions Sub-Tab to create new billing details or modify the existing ones to add their Peppol identifier.
⚠️ Warning!
The identifier must be entered without spaces or separators in the billing details.
✅ Correct: 0225:123456789
❌ Incorrect: 0225:123 456 789
💡 Good to know: No need to know your client's Accredited Platform.
The PPF Central Directory automatically handles the routing between Accredited Platforms. You only need to know your client's Peppol identifier.
Sending Your Invoice via Boond (and its integrated Accredited Platform)
Generate your invoice as you normally do.
In the Billing module > Invoices view, filter for invoices in the "Creation" status (or equivalent in your settings) and the "Peppol" sending mode (or "Accredited Platform" depending on how you named it).
Open the invoice > click on the envelope icon at the top right of your screen > choose the "Send and Declare" option.
Set the post-send invoice status to "Transmitted to client" (or equivalent in your settings).
Your invoice is sent in the structured UBL electronic format.
The "e-invoicing" status will update automatically.
Note: 2 statuses co-exist: the "e-invoicing status" and the invoice state within Boond.
Use the file navigation at the top of your screen to move to the next invoice and repeat the sending process via the Accredited Platform.
Once sent, the invoice is locked and cannot be modified, guaranteeing its traceability and probative value as required by the DGFiP framework.
Bulk Sending
You can send your invoices in bulk from the Billing module > Invoices View. Simply filter by a legal agency, select all the desired invoices, click the envelope icon in the center bar, and select "Send electronically".
Warning: You cannot select invoices from multiple different agencies in a single shipment. You must only select invoices from the same agency, process the send, and then repeat the process for another agency.
If you have set an automatic status after sending, a pop-up window will appear with a summary listing the sent invoices.
If you have not set an automatic status, you can select it directly from the list before confirming.
If bulk sending is not possible, you will receive the following error message:
Main reasons for the error:
No electronic invoicing connector is enabled for the agency tied to the invoice
The invoice has already been sent
The invoice is not posted (proforma status = no invoice number)
The user does not have write permissions for the invoice
The customer's billing contact details are not configured for an electronic delivery method
Boond will not display error details on an invoice-by-invoice basis.
Automatic Status Change After Sending
You can configure a default invoice status upon sending via the Accredited Platforms through the electronic invoicing settings (Administration > Global Settings > Billing):
The e-invoicing status of your invoice is separate from the Boond invoice state. The e-invoicing status is independent of our system: if the status is "Sent", the invoice is locked even if it is still in the "Creation" state in Boond.
Payment reminders are sent via standard email (you can do this directly from Boond as you usually do).
What is transmitted to the Accredited Platform is not a PDF document, but a structured data format (UBL XML).
The regulatory lifecycle defined by the XP Z12-014 standard (submitted, received, rejected, paid, etc.) is tracked in real-time within Boond and synchronized with the PPF Central Directory.
Receiving Your Invoices via Boond
Boond automatically checks every hour for new vendor invoices originating from the Accredited Platform and imports them into the Purchases > Providers Invoices module.
💡 Keep your CRM updated!
When an invoice is received, Boond automatically retrieves the provider's VAT number. If this number already exists in your CRM, the invoice will automatically link to the correct provider.
Viewing and Processing Your Provider Invoices
Go to Purchases > Provider Invoices to view your list of invoices.
"Source" Column (1): Helps you identify whether the invoice was automatically pulled via the Accredited Platform or uploaded manually.
"Provider" Column (2): Automatically populated if the SIREN number exists in your CRM. Otherwise, it must be filled in manually.
Click on the line item to open the provider invoice record. You will find the following details:
Summary of key details
Provider (detected automatically or filled in manually)
Resource associated with the invoice (to be completed if necessary)
Received format (Factur-X, UBL, or CII), downloadable via the designated button
Attachments (viewable by clicking on them, or downloadable)
Validating and Tracking Your Invoices
From the invoice record, you can update statuses:
Approve or reject the invoice
Mark the invoice as paid
When you accept or reject an invoice, this status update is automatically sent back to your provider via the regulatory lifecycle (XP Z12-014 statuses).
This simplifies tracking for both parties and is now mandatory for "mandatory" statuses (submitted, rejected, collected).
Exporting Providers' Invoices
Go to Purchases > Provider Invoices and click the "Export" button:
You can then choose from several options:
PDF/Image Export: Retrieves manually uploaded invoices.
Originals Export: Retrieves original file formats (Factur-X, UBL, CII, etc.).
Attachments Export: Includes all attached documents.
💡 Tip: Use the "Source" filter available in your search filters to isolate invoices received via the Certified Platform!
Special Case: Freelancer Invoices
When an invoice received via the Accredited Platform is linked to a freelancer, the freelancer will not yet be able to view this invoice from their intranet portal.
F.A.Q.
💡 Is BoondManager an Accredited Platform (PA - Plateforme Agréée)?
No, Boond is not an Accredited Platform. Boond is a Compatible Solution that relies on an AP partner: B2BRouter, registered with the French tax authority (DGFiP).
💡 My client didn't send me their Peppol identifier, is there another way to retrieve it?
Yes, you can search for it on the PPF CentralDirectory using their SIREN or SIRET number.
💡 My invoice isn't sending, what could be the reason?
The invoice cannot be sent via the Accredited Platform if:
The invoice is empty
The invoice has a future date (invoices can only be sent with today's date or a past date)
The invoice reference format does not comply with French regulatory requirements
Your client's billing contact details are incomplete or incorrect
The sending mode specified in the billing details does not match Peppol.
Please verify these details and try again
💡 My business is based in France and I need to bill foreign clients (EU or non-EU). How does it work?
The French DGFiP mandate covers domestic B2B French transactions only. For international transactions, a separate e-reporting obligation applies: transaction data is transmitted to the tax administration via your Accredited Platform, without routing the invoice itself to the client via Peppol France.
When viewing an invoice intended for an international client, you will find a button to declare the invoice for e-reporting.
💡 My business is based in France but I need to bill Belgian clients. Do I need to register on Peppol Belgium?
No, you are not subject to Belgian regulations if your business is based in France. However, you will still be able to declare your invoice under the e-reporting obligation and also send it electronically via Peppol.
