Managing teams across different regions with local holidays or varying schedules ?
Boond allows you to configure multiple calendars to tailor your collaboratorsā working time based on:
Contract or amendment,
Deliveries.
ā
Make calendars available from the administration menu.
Prerequisite
You must be an administrator or have access to global settings.
Before applying different calendars to your resources and projects, make sure they are available to use!
To do so, go to :
Global Settings > Misc > Calendar section
Click on Add a calendar.
You can then search among recognized calendars to add one and give it a clear name (e.g.: "Switzerland ā Geneva", ...).
ā
Assign a calendar to a resource
By default, a resourceās calendar is the one from the legal agency they are assigned to.
Your resource needs a different calendar (based in another country or geographical zone...)? No problem! You can assign a calendar by contract or amendment.
Go to the Resource card > Administrative tab > Contract, and update the Contract calendar field.
This setting will apply to all their timesheets and projects by default.
It will therefore override the calendar of the previously applied legal agency.
ā
Set a specific calendar on an assignment
If the calendar change is directly related to an assignment, you can edit the calendar directly on the assignment rather than on the contract (which would apply to all assignments).
Go to a project > Delivery tab, click the delivery assignment line, then:
Click āEdit assignment calendarā to view the current one.
Then click āEditā to access the dropdown list of available calendars.
Select the desired calendar.
Save.
You can apply a different calendar to as many assignments as needed.

Real-life example
An employee is attached to the "Paris" agency and therefore uses the France calendar (excluding Pentecost).
They are currently working on two deliveries simultaneously: one in Switzerland and one in London, in addition to internal tasks for their agency.
Thanks to delivery-specific calendars, they can log their time using the Swiss and UK local calendars on their deliveries, while keeping the France calendar for their leave.
Each activity line on their timesheet will show public holidays from the respective attached calendars:

FAQ
What happens if I donāt set a calendar on the delivery?
The calendar defined in the Resource file will be used by default.
Can I modify calendars after time has been logged?
Yes, calendar changes are retroactive and will appear on all related timesheets, even for past months.
How are business days calculated on timesheets?
The number of available business days shown in the timesheet is based solely on the calendar from the resourceās contract.
What if the resource has no contract?
If no contract is present, Boond will default to the resourceās agency calendar.
My resource has two overlapping contracts. What happens then?
If contracts overlap (not recommended), Boond will apply the calendar of the most recently created contract.
What happens when I create an amendment?
The amendment will inherit the calendar from the contract by default. But you can edit the amendment to apply a new calendar from a specific date onward.
There are flat-rate expenses on my resource. What calendar is used?
The flat-rate expense calendar will follow either the contractās calendar or, if applicable, the assignmentās calendar.
I use the ResourcePlanner. Do I need to do anything?
Nothing at all! The calendar shown will match either the contract or the assignmentās calendar if one is applied.
What happens when an delivery is handed over?
If the calendar is managed by the resourceās contract, it will be carried over to the final assignment.
If you want a specific calendar applied, it must be edited directly on the final (transferred) assignment.
What does the Planning module display?
It reflects the resourceās contract calendar.
